Smart home and energy control

Smart home integration with a PV installation and battery storage. We control heating, lighting and appliances so they run when your own cheap power is available. Higher self-consumption, smaller bills.

Let the house decide when to use power

A smart home for energy is automation that starts devices (the heat pump, the EV charger, the water heater, the washing machine) at the moment there is surplus solar generation or a low electricity price, which typically lifts self-consumption from 30% to 75%. Instead of exporting surplus for a fraction of its value, you use it on site. In the evening, on a night tariff or at a low wholesale price, the system moves consumption to where it costs least. We connect the common ecosystems (Home Assistant, hybrid inverters, heating controllers) and configure the rules around your load profile. The result: higher self-consumption, lower bills and comfort without watching the meter every day.

Smart home application showing generation and consumption in real time

Why it is worth it

Higher self-consumption

Devices switch on during hours of surplus generation. You use your own cheap power instead of exporting it for a fraction of its value.

Heating driven by energy

The heat pump and water heater run when you have solar power or cheap night-rate electricity. Heat is stored for later.

Shifting consumption in time

Washing machine, dishwasher and EV charger start in the cheapest hours. The system picks the moment from price and generation.

Full control from the app

Generation, consumption and battery state in one place. Rules can be changed remotely, and the system also works without your involvement.

Integration of existing devices

We connect the inverter, battery, heating and equipment from different manufacturers into one ecosystem. No need to replace the whole installation.

Lower bills without sacrifice

Optimisation happens in the background. Comfort stays the same, and every kilowatt-hour goes where it is worth most.

up to 75%
Self-consumption of your own energy

With automation driving devices according to solar output

Manual or automatic control?

Criterion Smart home with automation Manual control
Energy self-consumption up to 75% about 30%
Response to PV surplus Immediate, automatic Only when you are at home
Consumption in cheap hours Planned by the system Hard to keep track of
Your involvement Minimal, it runs in the background Watching the meter every day
Upfront cost Higher (controllers, configuration) None

Choose Smart home with automation if:

  • You have PV, storage or a heat pump and want the most from them
  • You are often out during the hours of highest generation
  • You want savings without daily supervision

Choose Manual control if:

  • You have a small installation and simple consumption
  • You are at home during the day and manage the equipment yourself
  • You are not planning storage or a heat pump for now

The process

Audit and device map

We check the PV installation, the battery, the heating and the high-draw equipment. We establish which of them can be controlled and what your load profile looks like.

Automation design

We select controllers, relays and a gateway, and design the rules: what runs when, according to generation, electricity price and battery state.

Integration and configuration

We combine the devices into one system (for example Home Assistant), tie it to the inverter and battery, and configure the application and the scenarios.

Testing, tuning and care

We start the automation, watch it for several days and refine the rules for maximum self-consumption. Then continuous installation care follows: we add devices and rules as your needs change.

What does a smart home for energy cost?

Gateway and basic automation control of 2 to 3 devices from PLN 2,500
PV and storage integration connection to a hybrid inverter from PLN 3,500
Heating control (heat pump, hot water) controllers + heating rules from PLN 2,000
Full home integration many devices and scenarios individual quote

Indicative prices in Polish złoty, depending on the number of devices, the brands and the state of the existing installation. Exact quote after a free audit. Some heating-related costs (for example heat pump or hot water control) may qualify for the Polish thermal-modernisation relief in single-family homes.

Your questions answered

What is a smart home in the context of energy?
It is automation that connects solar PV, battery storage and household devices, then decides on its own when to run them. Instead of exporting surplus generation to the grid at a low price, the system switches on the heat pump, the charger or the water heater. As a result you use more of your own, cheaper power.
Do I need solar for this to make sense?
A smart home gives most in combination with PV and storage, because devices can then be driven by generation. But it also works without solar: the system moves consumption into the cheapest tariff hours or low wholesale prices, which also lowers bills.
Which devices can be controlled?
Most often the heat pump, the hot water tank, the EV charger, air conditioning, lighting and large appliances (washing machine, dishwasher). We control whatever has a real effect on the bill and can be automated in your installation.
How much will my self-consumption rise?
With solar alone, self-consumption is usually around 30%. With battery storage and smart home automation responding to generation it can reach 75%. The exact result depends on the load profile, the size of the installation and the number of controlled devices, which we estimate during the audit.
Which systems do you integrate with?
We work with Home Assistant among others, and with hybrid inverters and batteries from common manufacturers. We combine devices from different brands into one ecosystem, so the whole installation rarely has to be replaced and existing equipment gains new functions.
Does the system work when I am not at home?
Yes, that is the point of it. The rules run in the background without your involvement: when the panels produce a surplus or power is cheap, the automation starts the right devices. From the app you can check the state at any time and change settings remotely.
What does implementing a smart home for energy cost?
Basic automation with a gateway starts at around PLN 2,500, integration with PV and storage at around PLN 3,500, and heating control at around PLN 2,000. Full integration across many devices is quoted individually. We confirm the final cost after a free audit.
Can I extend the system in stages?
Yes. We usually begin with the largest loads (heat pump, charger) and the basic rules, then add further devices and scenarios later. As a partner for the whole lifecycle of the installation, we develop the system alongside your needs.
